A year after postponing her Unbreakable tour, Janet Jackson is BACK and better than ever! Not only did she impeccably SLAY the choreography she was doing over 20 years ago (Rhythm Nation, Control, If), but she brought her smile, charisma, and social messages to the stage. The ONLY word that comes to mind when describing her artistry: ICONIC! The wait has been TOTALLY worth it, and I couldn’t be happier!!!

            The “State of the World” tour kicks off with a compelling visual introduction of the overall climate (politically, environmentally, etc…) in the world. She effortlessly manages to juggle between her love and sexually driven hits we all adore with those conveying uplifting social messages. The 80’s were back and EVERYBODY was loving it! Some of the stand out tracks/performances were “BURNITUP!” featuring Missy Elliott, the mix between Control/ What Have U Done For Me Lately/ Pleasure Principle being that a sample of the Cardi B “Bodak Yellow” hit currently storming the charts is mixed into it, “Together Again” which OVERWHELMING LIT the arena up when she began performing, “What About” which introduces us to a very INTENSE moment in the concert due to the story of abuse being detailed by the dancers while Janet’s pain effortlessly translates through the song (keep in mind she’s currently going through a divorce,) and last but not least, “If” & “Rhythm Nation” where she recreates the choreography EVERYONE grew up seeing. EVERYTHING about the show was amazing: the dancers were on point, her delivery was perfection, and the staging/lighting were awesome! This was a glorious night!

            If you haven’t seen Janet Jackson live, you’re TRULY missing out. She’s such a precious gem in today’s world, and I simply ADORE her. Her legacy is monumental and undeniable!!! Did I mention, she's 51 years old and looks INCREDIBLE!!!! She’s extremely talented, puts on an AMAZING show full of positivity and love with class and grace, and has a catalog full of HITS that have blazed the charts throughout 4 DECADES!!! She’s proved over and over again that she’s a BRIGHT & SHINING SUPERSTAR in what can at times by a dark and depressing world. Thank you Janet for your artistry! LOVE YOU!!!!!! <3
