They're Here: Four Children's Books, Out Today

Today's the day. Four children's books, published under Jupiter Chavez, are officially out in the world, in English and in Spanish, and I've been holding my breath for this one.

These didn't start as a business plan. They started at family gatherings, with my ever-growing crew of nieces, nephews, and little cousins climbing over the furniture asking for a story. Every time the family gets bigger, my "why" gets bigger too. I wanted to write something they could actually enjoy, books where kids who look like us, who come from where we come from, get to be the hero of the myth instead of a footnote in someone else's.

And because our family lives in two languages, so do these books. Every title is available in both English and Spanish, so kids can meet these worlds in the language they dream in.

So I built four worlds. Here they are.

Aiden the Young Painter — When hard times take Aiden's colors away, a wise teacher hands him three words: paint the grey. It's a story about resilience and the courage to keep creating even when it's hard.

Takoda's Royal Journey — An eight-year-old boy learns of a hidden royal lineage and journeys alone into the wilderness to unite two clans on the brink of conflict. It's a story rooted in Native American heritage, about belonging and discovering that real power is the willingness to listen.

Khepri: The Rebirth of a Pharaoh's Legacy — Born under an eclipse over the Nile, a boy who wears a scarab pendant learns he may carry an ancestor's wisdom. It's a tender, richly illustrated story about legacy and knowing where you come from.

Itzel's Legacy — A young woman who can read the stars stands before ten thousand people during a solar eclipse and speaks without fear: "The sun will return." It's a story built on Aztec heritage and female empowerment, about courage, healing, and trusting the light back in.

For my family, and yours

Every one of these is dedicated, in spirit, to the kids in my life who keep showing up and keep growing in number. I wrote books I'd actually want to read to them, stories with real roots, real culture, and real heart, not a lecture in disguise.

Why I made the whole set instead of one title: kids build their sense of what's possible from the stories they're handed, and I wanted my nieces, nephews, and cousins to see themselves crowned, painting, and reading the stars, across four different cultures, not just one. The honest tradeoff: four books spanning four heritages, in two languages, is a heavy research and care load, and a wider collection means I couldn't pour everything into a single book the way a one-title author can. I made that trade on purpose. The collection is the gift.

All eight editions are live as of today, four stories in English and Spanish, available through Amazon stores everywhere. If you've got a small human in your life, or you just love a good story with deep roots, these are for them. Grab them at the links above.
